So everyone should know who P&G are.... no? Well, Traditionally known for their soaps and detergents, P&G now produce a massive range of products in hair care, cosmetics, perfumes, personal hygiene, laundry care, snack food, paper and feminine hygiene, and even pet food. P&G’s brands include Ariel, Daz, Fairy, Max Factor, Olay, Pantene Pro-V, Herbal Essences, and Head and Shoulders, for a full list of their products click here: http://www.uncaged.co.uk/pgproducts.htm
Basically it has come to the attention of the public that P&G do actually test on animals!
I'm not here to preach as i always say in my blog, but don't you find it slightly disturbing that most of your everyday household products have been tested on an innocent creature that was living and breathing a very normal happy life before hand? If you have a conscience you will carry on reading.
Procter & Gamble exist for one reason, and one reason only - to make as much money as possible. P&G test on animals because of their desire to get new chemical ingredients on to the market. This allows them to claim that their new hair dye, skin cream or washing powder etc. is ‘new, improved’, in the hope of increasing sales. But with many companies producing similar consumer products without carrying out animal tests, it shows that P&G’s cruelty is motivated by greed.
So now you must be wondering, what can i do about this?
The best thing would be to head over to this link http://www.uncaged.co.uk/pgaction.htm and have a read of what you can do to boycott P&G! There is also a link at the bottom of the page with more ideas on what you can do to help, the link is: http://www.boycottpandg.co.uk/
Animals are living creatures, just like us. Put yourself in their position.
Here are a few images of what 'animal testing' looks like.

Are horse drawn carriages cruel?
Good evening! So tonight i have decided to bring up a topic about horses that pull carriages for weddings/city tours etc
My big question is, is this animal cruelty?
I was in york over the weekend and i went on one for a city tour and the whole time i had mixed feelings, i felt sorry for the horse pulling the carriage but at the same time my thoughts were:
They're getting excersize, plenty of fresh air, being groomed, being fed and being looked after. But is that really the case? after all these thoughts i had to look into it properly.
I read an article about it once i had gotten back home, here is the link: http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-in-entertainment/horse-drawn-carriages.aspx
So the article points out how bad it is, but surely there's another side to this argument?

Here is another side to the argument, it is a page set up on facebook and it is the truth and knowledge page on working horses.
Which team to you side with?
Do you think working horses/horse drawn carriages is a form of animal cuelty? yay or neigh?

The big debate: Protein.
So there's so many different opinions on wheteher vegetarians and vegans get enough protein, In my opinion i think we do get slightly less with not eating meat but i wouldn't say it is enough to make us ill or to have major effect on our bodies.
A balanced diet is essential in everybody, meat eaters, vegans, vegetarians etc!
Being vegetarian is only like having a dairy intolerance, dairy is full of calcium and anyone who can't have dairy products have to find an alternative, so surely this is alll vegetarians and vegans need to do, replace meat with foods such as nuts, seeds, beans, pulses, vegetable protein foods and soya products all contain protein. There are also small amounts in grains and dairy products. Due to this variety of protein-rich foods available in the UK, protein deficiency is rare!
Here are some links if you are concerned about protein in your diet:
http://vegetarian.about.com/od/healthnutrition/tp/protein.htm
http://www.happycow.net/vegetarian_protein.html
Here are 2 links that provide information on protein in the vegetarian diet!
http://exercise.about.com/cs/nutrition/a/protein.htm
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/what-should-you-eat/protein/
Here are 2 links on protein general!
I think it is important we all know what is good for us and what is bad for us, something that is good for us can be bad for us aswell if we eat too much of it.
Any questions, just leave a comment :)

Animal Cruelty.
So i want to bring up this subject because it is something i feel very deeply about, i love animals and how much character each and every one of them have.
But when most people think of animal cruelty they don't think about pigs. chickens, cows, the animals that get factory farmed for humans to consume, isn't this classed as animal cruelty?
Most people think of pets when it comes to animal cruelty, which is also just as bad, but why if you think animal cruelty is wrong on dogs, cats and other pets don't you think it is also wrong to do it to animals that are farmed.
Farmed animals were once wild animals, they were free to roam and do as they please, i dare say they probably got hunted but i doubt that they suffered like they do now!
This short video produced by animal aid explains abuse farmed animals go through.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone can make their own choices, i have made a choice to stop eating meat and to make sure any confectionary i have doesn't contain gelatine.
Everyone deserves to know how their food got onto their plate.

Vegetable curry is very easy to make!
This is one of my favourite meals, vegie curry! I made enough for 2 people:)
Step 1: Peal and cut three small potatoes into chunks and put them on to boil until soft then add some frozen veg to the pan (they only take 5 mins to go soft)
Step 2: Take out the wok from your cupboard and add some oil, slice some mushrooms and add these to your wok, sieve the potatoes and vegetables then add them to the wok. Make sure the heat isnt too high, i'd recommend gas mark 4.
Step 3: Now all you need is to add the curry sauce and let it summer for 10 minutes.
Step 4: EAT!
